What initially drew you to your field, and how has that passion evolved over time?
I was initially drawn into the food service industry in my youth, working in the snack bars at Encanto Park after swim team practice, and burger joints in High School. While doing food prep for a pizza chain, I started maintaining and servicing the equipment, and eventually worked for a service company. It felt like a natural progression to go into sales. Working for a rep firm is not just creating sales but also creating solutions. That’s where the passion has always been.
What recent accomplishment at work has you feeling most energized?
A remote school district needed to replace some equipment and was struggling to find help on what they needed. They were referred to me and I offered them a solution with one of our manufacturers and found a dealer for them to work with. They placed the order. Win, win!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
In the summer I like to take the boat out on the lakes and go fishing. In the winter I like to go out on the frozen lakes and go ice fishing. Fishing is my reason to get outdoors. Catching fish is a bonus.
What brought you to Colorado, and what’s your favorite thing about living here?
DPM brought me to Colorado with a job offer I couldn’t refuse. Then I met a woman here, who happens to like fishing, and she became my favorite thing about living in Colorado.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Check your knot.
What’s a unique skill or expertise you bring to the table that benefits the team?
A well-rounded knowledge of the equipment in the industry.
What is the best advice you have to someone starting out in this business?
Do what you say you will do. People may have poor memories, but everyone remembers being let down. Don’t burn any bridges. It’s a tight knit industry and your reputation will proceed you.
